Absolutely, you can tailor the meal plans to use specific foods and recipes using the Recurring Foods feature, which you'll find located in the Meal Settings for each meal (see more about the basics of this feature here). You can add either foods/recipes to recur individually, or you can use Collections to more quickly set a variety of foods to recur.

Using your favorites:

Any foods/recipes that you favorite (by selecting the star icon beneath the image) will automatically be added to your Favorites Collection. If you go to the Recurring tab in the Meal Settings for a meal, you can use the Add Collection option to set your Favorites Collection to recur. This will set all of your favorites to recur often for this meal, along with any new favorites you add going forward. If you turn on the "Only use recurring" option, then the generator will only use those favorites for this meal going forward.

Using your custom recipes:

You can either set custom recipes to recur often individually for a meal, or you may find it simpler to create a collection to add all of your custom recipes to. This way, you can use the Add Collection option to quickly set all of these to recur at once. This will set all of your custom recipes to recur often for this meal, along with any new custom recipes you add to the collection going forward. If you turn on the "Only use recurring" option, then the generator will only use those recipes for this meal going forward.

Using basic foods instead of recipes:

If you like to maintain a simpler diet of basic food staples without preparing full recipes, you can set individual foods to recur. For example, if you would like to generate your meals using basic ingredients such as chicken, rice, broccoli, etc., you can either set these foods to recur often individually for a meal, or you may find it simpler to create a collection to add all of these foods to. This way, you can use the Add Collection option to quickly set all of these to recur at once. If you turn on the "Only use recurring" option, then the generator will only use those specific foods for this meal going forward.

More tips:

- When you set a collection to recur, we'll apply your exclusions and meal filters to the foods/recipes in these collections. This means you may see items in these collections excluded from your meal plans if they don't adhere to your selected complexity, time available, etc. If you want to override this and ensure that all foods in your collection are allowed in the plans, be sure to toggle off the "Apply meal filters to Recurring Collections" switch.

- Setting a collection to recur will set all of those foods to recur with a frequency of often. If you want to set a food to recur always so this is always generated in the meal, use the Search Food option to set this to recur directly.

- The above are just a few specific examples of common uses we see, but you can use these features in a variety of ways to set up your preferred foods. Just note that anytime you make changes, you'll need to regenerate any current meal plans to see these changes reflected.
